Perseids meteor shower....

Tonight is the Perseids meteor shower, anyone going to get out there and look tonight? Unfortunately I'm working and I am surrounded by waaay too much light polution in addition to the full moon tonight.......I wish I was off because I would have taken my kids to a dark field somewhere.

This is one of the reasons that I love living in the middle of the woods far from the city lights. We have a full moon tonight so I would have to stay up til 3am or so but I am sure I can see some before then.
Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the heads up Chris. It would be a perfect night for viewing them if it wasn't for that full moon. I've got zero clouds, no light pollution, it's even kind of cool out there. I've witnessed some great meteor showers in the past in August.

No problem Ghost, the full moon will probably drown out some of them but the brighter ones should be seen.....It's on the cool side up here as well, VERY nice night outside!

even in the big city (or on the outskirts anyhow) i can still see meteor showers at times.. but with this full Moon I doubt I'll see much... Plus we have these Clouds coming over right now... but one can always be hopefully that I'll see something...

Those of you who can see them, Enjoy!!!

I usually check this out every year, but unfortunately as we were coming home from seeing a Beatles tribute band called The Return the clouds rolled in and we can't see a thing here now. I'm really pissed because I was looking forward to coming home, grabbing a cold one, and hitting the deck to check them out.
