Can you set traps for arrowheads?

I mean in creeks.....I know that when creekin you can find them in deep spots, bends and where something stops or changes the flow of the water..I.E..rocks, logs...etc.......Well do you think that you can make an obstruction or something like that....Just a thought...What do you think

Like I hunt a spot thats a run off on a hill....Put a large log 1/2 way down to catch them before they hit the creek.....stuff like that.

certainly worth a try Neo, I know arrowheads get caught in the larger gravels on my beach at times,,,,,,,,it would give you a place to start looking, just don't disregard looking below your trap, some are going to get past it!

There's a certain creek in SW Arkansas (some of yall reading this know exactly where I'm talking about) that has a large concrete "ramp" built where a railroad track passes over it.I guess it's supposed to keep the the beams holding the track up from washing away. Many nice points have been found at the base of the "ramp" or a short distance downstream. There's no telling how many points have slid down this thing over the years. It seems like you could weld an extra large frame together and stretch a roll or two of 1/4" screen over it and sit back and wait on the points to pile up in it.

No need for bait, I just use a bottle of Arrowhead In Heat and put a few drops on a cotton ball.

Slingblade and I labored for two hours strategically placing 20-50 pound rocks in a productive area in certain creek to act as a catch-basin. So far, it's been successful. The catch-basin has yeilded 3 wholes and numerous brokes and thousands of flakes. Works best if you know the productive area's of the creek,, building rock trap about 20ft downstream of known productive spot.
