Little dove hunting partner!:)

Well she finally wants to go hunting with Dad these days! Her first dove she picked up! She put it in her vest and said it's ok, I'll be your friend!! She also found her first points( brokes) and a little Mano/ metate combo this year! She's fun!! I'm a proud Daddy!

She was mad at me this mornin, cause I didn't take her hunting yesterday evenin! The place we dove hunted, there has been 16 rattlesnakes killed in the last 3 weeks! Including the one by the gate yesterday! We got limits, half whitewings, half mourning, but that place is creepy! Not takin her there, she'll just have to be mad!! I'll post some pics of our next hunt!

Dave, thanks! We do need to get together soon, the fields are dormant right now! And snaky!! She sure enjoyed your company! We have been extremely busy with work, and my father in law just came through cancer surgery in Temple! He's fine, but it's been exhausting!

Great pic. I remember when my 12 year old was about that age when we were cleaning a pile of doves. She had been playing with a bird the first time I looked over at her. The next thing I knew she was asking for me to snap the wings. She had the bird three quarters cleaned already.

I never hunted doves before. We have a season up here but it is not too popular. I know one thing, I probably couldn't afford the shells it takes to hunt them. We hunt a lot of waterfowl and the steel shot issue is bad enough to deal with.

Larry congrats on your future arrival! thanks guys, we have a blast! It's fun! Chert the Remington Shurshot 7 1/2 are about $6.75 a box, not bad, unless it takes you 2 boxes to kill a mess of birds like me! lol
