Frank, I had arthroscopic surgery on my shoulder last Friday. Had the stitches taken out yesterday. I can move my arm pretty good now, just can't lift, push or pull anything. Will probably be back to work in two weeks. Would be back before then except for the kind of work I do. I had knee surgery back in '79, but they didn't do arthroscopic then, so can't tell about knee. Good luck to you!

Been there, done that Neo.....thanks to an on the job injury had a the same procedure......they had me walking the same day with a brace on my leg, I think it was two weeks and back to work I went.......wasn't as bad as I had anticipated........good luck to you, hope all goes well.
![]() edit:.......Now that I think about it, I used crutches the first day, then full weight bearing with the brace. Last edited by cgode; 09-22-2011 at 07:33 PM. |

Poke a few holes. Trim trim. No big deal as long as you don't get an infection. DON'T GET AN INFECTION!
Then take good care of that knee as removing part of the meniscus means you have less cushion than before.

I've had orthopedic knee surgery. What's the difference,, cutting open as opposed to poking holes???
Guess you would say mine was major. Was on crutches for a long long time. Once they took the cast off my leg had lost all muscle. Had to do intensive physical therapy for a year. Best of luck and hope you get out to your local "tool shed" soon! |

Better now than later then! Hope it goes well, and don't overdo it afterwards for a bit.

I haven't had knee surgery but I sure need it I guess. Artificials run in the family. My brother has two new knees and Dad has one. Arthritis runs rampant. Sports didn't help either. Good luck!

Neo, ya' better lay off the hunting post surgery for a bit. That's an order buddy. Them artifacts can lay in the dirt for a few more weeks.
DrDave, always thought you were a shrink! Ahh, you are the doc either way... Speaking of... Spouse turned Doctor...
