Class Presentation
This past Friday Hannah and I had the pleasure of giving a presentation to Hannah's class about what we have collected and learned over the past year. I brought in all the pieces we have found and pieces that Steve V and Joshua R were generous enough to give Hannah and showed them off to her class. We went over what each piece was used for, how it was made, and how to tell if it is an artifact. We also explained how to get started with the hobby, and also told them the benefits of arrowheadology.com. The 4th graders at Sacred Heart are a special class, and they all listened intently on what Hannah and I had to show and tell them. The highlight of the presentation was when I told them I had arrowhead pieces and pottery for them to take home! They all were very excited when I told them, and took their time picking out the right piece. Thanks Steve V, Lillyput, Cannonman17, Dr. Dave and Headhunter23, your donations made the presentation a huge success. Hannah's teacher pulled up the website for the class to see, so hopefully we will have a lot of new young members. When it came to question time, there were plenty to be asked, and of course the old "I found a rock...",
. Hannah and I had a blast, and she did a wonderful job.

Gosh, I'm so happy it went well. It will be one of the really fond memories the kids carry through their lives. Me too

That sounds like great fun....nothing like the enthusiasm of children! I like little better than the way a kid's eyes light up when I give them their very own arrowhead....
I donated a bunch of points awhile back to a program run by a teacher at an inner city school...trying to give native kids an appreciation of their history and heritage...he'd been making do with a bunch of $1 rock shop knockoffs, and was delighted when I said I could provide him with the real thing!

Very cool Don. I'm glad to hear that you and Hannah did very well with your presentation. Like you, I kind of have a fear of talking in public in front of a lot of people. It's not near as bad as it used to be and I think going to a lot of artifact shows and talking to people has really helped. It was a pleasure to help with some items to give away to the kids. Hopefully it will spark some interest and get these kids off the couch and out from in front of a computer and get them in the fields and back outside.
By the way, I am going to get my wife to take a picture and I'll get it to you as soon as I get it done. Sorry it has taken so long.
