Cool picture
A friend of mine was helping someone cut down a large tree that had died after being struck by lightning.
When they cut part of it in half, looking at the cross-section you can see the burned design that the lightning made in the wood. He took a pic and showed me, thought it was cool and I'd show y'all here. |

Very cool. If you look at the very center it kind of looks like the sun setting over some hills and valleys. I hope they didn't destroy that.

Cool as hell,,,would make a good informative classroom discussion peice for a science class.
I wonder if there is value in that? Heck, their is for everything else, I wouldn't see why not?? Would make for unique one-of-a-kind furniture peices to an artist, etc. |

Not yet.
I asked him to see if he can get me a slice of it, but I haven't talked to him in a few weeks. If I do, I'll post better pics of it. And heck yeah Jason, I'll bet wood like this might be valuable, it's gotta be I would think. |
