Sorry, I had a problem with my link. My wife and I have played nothing but Bluegrass for many years but no longer being in a band we haven't had the opportunity to record in a while. Recently I started experimenting with my new Mac computer and my wife's voice on some different styles of music. This is a bit out of my realm as far as mixing and arranging so I'm asking for some honest opinions as to how folks think it sounds. This is an Allman Bros tune that I arranged with a very different feel. The vocal is not the final version as she wants to work on it some more. It is essentially a scratch vocal that let me arrange around. Anyhow, I do welcome any critiques. Thanks!

Here's bluegrass song that we just recorded that gives a better idea of what I'm used to recording and mixing.

So your asking a bunch of folks who wander around with their head down in creeks and fields an opinion? Well here goes.
First off your wife has a beautiful voice and can't wait to here what the final version is like cause I can't imagine she can sing it much prettier than she does.
The mix, a bit hard to tell through the speakers of a laptop, but sounds like you have got it all there and nothing to over the top, all easy to hear. Arrangement is darn near as sweet as that voice and compliments it well. Nicely done. So who are the musicians, that you on the sax?
Would love to here some of your Bluegrass too, the 2nd song you posted is a copy of this song, so please post that again.
Sweet!

Sounds good to me. I bet you'll really like the Mac, it took some time to adjust to mine, but I really like it now.

Thank y'all for the comments!! Here's the corrected link to the Bluegrass song that we did last night.
It's actually not a bluegrass tune originally but we grassed it up. To answer a couple of questions there's not a video with this -- just audio. My wife is doing the singing and I'm playing bass. The rest of it is samples and loops that I'm learning on the Mac with Garageband and some other software. All new to this old blue grasser of many years -- but fun to have a band that always shows up -- sober and ready to play!
