Yeah, I didn't really understand the whole 'gotta sit out the first 5 games next year' thing but they still got to play in the bowl game. Seems pretty obvious. But then I didn't think the infraction was THAT big of a deal.

The first win for the Big Ten in the last 10 bowl games against the SEC. They have a right to be happy.

You are way off there Rok. The coach told them they deserve the punishment. If they were going to go pro then he was going to sit them out. If they promised to come back next year and serve their suspensions then they could play. I do not know any coach that would suspend his players more than the NCAA sanction said they should. If you wanted to blame the NCAA for letting them play, that it is fine but do not put that on Tressel. That would be stupid on his part. He gets paid to win games not be anybody's dad. And really, 5 games for selling something that you earned and owned. They did know it was illegal. But they were 18-19 year old kids. Everyone makes mistakes. I highly doubt they are " inked idiots ".

Maybe they should have had their dads sell the stuff for them. That seems to be ok as long as your dad does it for you, at least in the SEC. Why didn't the Auburn coach suspend Cam Newton ? Because he also gets paid to win games. Selling your trophies or pimping your son ? I know which one I think is worse.

I see your point, and, you know how us Crimson Tide fans feel about Auburn anyway.I think Newton is another Reggie Bush in the making. Too bad for the Heisman folks.
