I actually used to work and still do on occasion hand in hand with the guys from Wasserstrom. I work for S & G Manufacturing. The company I work for now, the people who started it all used to work at Wasserstrom. The company kind of split up and they started this company. I have always been in the restaurant industry. I am 28 now. I used to work for Lancaster Restaurant Supply. Pretty much the same type business as Wasserstrom and S & G but alot smaller scale. But yea, we are the ones who ship the containers down there. Wasserstrom is our main competition. It is funny if we have demand we can not handle we will send the work to them and vice versa. That is cool. It is a very small world.

I've had a lot of jobs through the years. I grew up on a farm and worked in our dairy and in tobacco and at our local animal shelter until I left home. After our son came along I worked as a bottle washer cleaning the outside of returned suntan lotion bottles for Hawaiian Tropic. That job sucked. After we moved back to the farm I worked as a supervisor for a cleaning company, a cook in an international restaurant and grocery and at Papa John's, my husband and I ran our own hot dog cart for a couple of years and had a small retail place - the economic crash ended that. Currently I take care of pets and livestock (mainly horses and dogs) for people when they go on vacation and raise enormous gardens and preserve our food and sell the excess on an honor system from my front yard. You could call that charity work I suppose - since I sell almost everything for $1.00 per pound. I also sell eggs. I've sold produce from our yard for more than a decade now. Until this year I just had planks on sawhorses for a table, but my dad built me a nice little shack for this year. We're going to paint it after the season is over.
I think mom is the hardest job I've had...but by far the most rewarding. Kat

![]() You guys were probably not looking for a work history . It just got me thinking of all the jobs I've had...and Thank You...the produce thing started as a way to pay for my seeds and canning and freezing supplies and has become a fixture for the many retirees in my area. It certainly won't make me rich! I have a policy - if you are over 90 you get stuff for 1/2 price, over 95 and you get it for free . Sometimes I find that there are just pennies in my lock-box, especially at the end of the month . Right now it's free turnip time. My dad plants an acre of turnips and anyone who wants can come and pick greens and turnips for free.My husband worked for Papa John's for years and years. He works at a university bookstore now as the shipping manager. Kat |
