Trout Fishing 5/7

After finding a few artifacts this morning I decided to switch gears and hit the river for some trout fishing. The conditions were near perfect and they were feeding when I got there. I landed eight rainbows, largest was 18+", lost a good sized fish in the rapids. Even got a painted turtle to pop out and say cheese.

The first trout pictured is probably a 3 yr McConaghy strain imo, they're Steelhead relatives that can get pretty large. The other three are wild Rainbows, the larger eyes, and distinctive colors and markings set them apart from typical stockers. They do well in this particular stretch of the river and can reach an impressive size for a native fish. The rounded, shortened noses are typical for wild rainbows.

A couple examples of the wild rainbow trout.

Fishing, camping, and looking for rocks sounds like a plan to me, good luck.
