san diego trail cam pics

just acouple new pics , was hoping to get a mountain lion but since all the deer have fawned them wiley lions arnt liking my cat food and fish heads anymore, got the bob cat though and an odd angle on a buzzard, one wing is folded in the other is just folding in and thats a raven to the left of him making the picture that much harder to figure out at first, the bucks are still in velvet here. since the fires five or so years ago the deer as well as all the preditors have reached there genetic potential size wise, some monster racks that have gone from leaving them lay where the deer loose them to picking up killer sheds, scrawny coyotes and lions, to scary monsters, bring a gun or slow friend along to protect yourself with, ill be posting more as i get them, enjoy, anyone guess what the blurr in the night sky is?the date on the primos camera resets itsself everytime i change the batteries, those pics are as new as the ones on the other camera,

mark the deer here are a hybrid blacktail/mule deer and depending on the food available they range from 160- 210lbs i would say, maybe alittle heavier in recent years, its interesting to look at them and try and determine which traits are more pronounced, we have even had another deer start to show up that is called a burrow beer , a smaller variety native to the deserts north-east of san diego, i understand that there is another variety soon to be given its own name to the north of us, heres acouple pics from last year, the big one in the first pic was a 7x3 i hunted for his shed, never found it, the other guy(next pic) though not near as big, was the big stud last year (next three pics), i would watch him fight till his tounge hung out, hed rest and get right back to it, ill be looking for his genes in all the new bucks for the next few years, all the lady deer loved him in the last pic you might find it interesting what the hormones do to the necks of rutting deer here

Great photos! That last one sure could tell it was the rut. Our average buck here is about 140 but most hunters add 20 to that My personal best damn near 200...couple pounds shy. 18 1/2 inside spread. You guys got some dandys out there! Thanks for the pictures. Mark.
