new pic of mountain lion

i think this is the same lion i posted acouple weeks ago, shes a nice sized one, i couldnt understand why that 6x6 disapeared, duh i was baiting cats, so now all the bucks have left the area, my cameras are on a major deer trail, ive had them there for 6 months or so, and gradually the deer stopped using the upper part of the trail , i would get deer on both cameras every day at first, i started baiting the upper camera with meat and fish and dog food, almost immediatly the deer stopped using the upper part of the trail and when i did get pics of deer they were never clear like they were hurring to get passed the smell i thought, they made another branch going up the hill alittle ways away, now all i get is coyote, bob cat, lions and crows and vultures, on the upper camera, and only does visit the salt block now , so no bucks to show this time , enjoy the other pics, again sorry i havent reset the date , everytime i change out the batteries it gos back to jan 1 2008

jason the camera makes a clunk everytime it takes a pic, i have it set to take multiple pics, my brother says the young yote is playing like a puppy will play gettin down on its front with ass in the air waggin its tail, i say its reflex to the sound the camera makes as it is doing the same thing in the other pic, you may of noticed one urinating on the spot where i put food , alittle strange but probably normal to dogs , i have a pic of one pissin on the salt block i put out for deer, now i wash it when i check my cameras, even though the deer dont seem to mind it, thanks for the response , nice sized cat huh? obviously full grown female , not something you want jumping on your back even if you were paying attention, she could snuff you out like the flick of a light switch

Heck yea, it is quite the muscular cat!! Don't want no part of 'em 'cept for your cool pics, lol,, That's cool your state is filled up with all of these wild animals roaming the countryside. I've lived in Missouri my whole life and and for the most part, the only thing you have to worry about are the snakes,, and a couple spiders. I often think about traveling to certain states to go headhuntin in,, and what I don't think about is all the hazards that I would be unaware of/encounter. There have supposably been a couple sitings of wild mountain lions in Missouri,, but it's RARE and uncommon. We have to go to animal parks such as Lone Elk, Grants farm, or the zoo to see anything other than deer/common small animals for the most part and is definately not the same as seeing them in their natural wild habitat. (Another reason I enjoy your cam pics) Keep 'em comin!

Jason

Great pics, looks like a good sized cat. That first two are funny, like the click or flash startled that yote.

Excellent Pics!

Excellent pics on the wildlife, especially the coyotes and cougars. Here in NH, the coyotes are the size of German Shepards. They have competition here in the southern end with the fisher cats that run around in packs. I had three of them run through my yard the other day. In the mountains in the northern part of my state, there are more and more sightings of cougars being made each year, yet F & G doesnt want to admit that they are back, would cost them a lot of money to protect them. Guess ignoring them is cheaper until something happens.

jason when i think of your state i think about those super strong storms that appear in a minute, no way of escaping a tornado if caught out in the open, i bet the odds that your alot more likely to incounter a tornado then a mountain lion, stay safe out there

hey jeff , yep alot easier to ignore the issue untill it is a problem, we have had two mountain lion problems here in the last four years , one a jogger was killed the other,a cat kept coming into town harrassing the local dogs, both were killed, everyone here knows they are here and everyone (most people) are of the opinion that they belong here and if one becomes a problem it is removed, fortunately for people cats are easily hunted and easily treed by dogs, so i dont think there will ever be a real problem unless something happens to the deer population , we do have a problem with the rare big horn sheep we have here ,,the lions and the deseases they have are desimating there population here , we have lost over half in the last couple years despite the on going vaccinations
