Missed getting back to you on the cats. No I am no pro on big cats. Just want you to stay safe. Oh Oh did you ever see the email that went around a while back about a cougar stalking dogs that were following a couple riding mules. [terrible sentence structure] The man dismounted taking his rifle so to
shoot and scare away the cougar. Well his mule had another idea and she went after that cat and beat it to a pulp. Killed the cat [mule still had the bit in her mouth] the man's wife was steady snapping pictures. I felt sorry for the cat. Seems like they don't fear multiple people, objects, animals.

wow , missed that article , dosnt really surprise me that the mule killed it, kind of surprised the cat stuck around long enough to get killed, we have had several incidences here in calif, lately , one a bicyclist was knocked off her bike and drug into the bush, her friend played tug-a-war with the cat till some others came and helped , just down the trail someone found a nice mountain bike and later discovered the body half buried, they got the dogs, treed the cat and disposed of it , here in san diego a few years back a lady jogger got killed, same outcome with the dogs, treed the cat and it was dispatched to the great hunting ground of its next life, there are numerous accounts of hikers being stalked, everyone assumes it was a youngster just practicing, every time i have had the chance to see one it was usually just the flash of a rear end disappearing into the brush, or from across a valley, once i got some pics with a regular camera , but as you can imagine they were blurry and not very good, i remember my brother yelling vince ,vince, viiiiiinnnnnnncccccccceeeee, its a mountain lion , its a mountain lion , why are you chasing it, for the pic i yelled , vince its a mountain lion, then it kinda sunk in oh crap it is a mountain lion, dont need to be chasing one of those, we still get a laugh out of it, the story never gets old for my brother, thanks for your concern lillyput, but I AM MAN, ME HAVE KNIFE , ME LIVE TOO CHALLENGE ANY ANIMAL IN FORREST, CAT? BAH, I AM MAN, LOL, no seriously , after seeing the time stamp on a couple pics from my trail cams and realizing that i only missed running into one of those cats by three hours , definitely puts things into perspective, i am as careful and aware as can be,
