The smaller mountain creeks and streams are full of trout. Brown, and wild rainbows and brookies. The larger, warmer water typically has a mix of smallmouth bass, perch, catfish.

Great pics everyone.

Here's another one for you, longtimefree, which is cool in that you can see 3 different states in this one photo. In the foreground is Napatree Point, RI. It's one of my favorite "fun in the summer sun" beaches, never looked for artifacts there. The land on the right side horizon is the vicinity of Groton, Ct.
The land on the left side horizon is Fishers Island, NY, which is northeast of Long Island, NY. I don't know if this is the only place where 3 states share a water boundary, but it might be.

I like odd geographic trivia, that factoid seems to be a good one. Glancing a the map, I don't see any other area where three states get so close along a sea boundry. It happens in freshwater more often, I used to hunt a field in Indiana where I could see Illinois and Kentucky from the levee and imagine there have to be several similar places along rivers that make state boundries in many areas.

I think you're right Joshua, I was thinking after I posted that that along some of the major rivers there must be such multiple state boundaries, but Ct-NY-RI probably do share the only 3 state sea boundary. I'd venture to say 95% of my fellow Rhode Islanders don't even know we have a boundary with NY of any kind. Just Ct. to the west and Ma. to the north and east.
