Could it be an Osprey? Are you near water? Looks like an Osprey..

I still think it's an Osprey.. I think I see a small dark line behind his eyes, and a dark tail...
![]() Maybe? |

Could be, but its legs look yellow to me... unlike the one in your picture.
I have to say this...maybe a crow or something that fell into a paint can?

Its a leucistic Buteo. Definatly not a Osprey or Acipitor. Probably a Red Tail or maybe even a RedShoulder. Several leucistic Redtails have been spotted in Texas the last few years. Albinos would have none of the darker colored markings seen on the tail of this specimen.

Really Albino Red tailed Hawks arent as uncommon as you might think. Almost positive there was one (or at least just white) out here about 15 years ago and several people knew of it and we mentioned it to the world bird sanctuary but eventually never seen it again. If you google albino red tailed hawk you will find pictures and stories and if you look it up on youtube I imagine you would see a few. Maybe theres a white "variant" more common than true albino, not sure but if I see a white opossum I will call it albino when not actually knowing if its an albino just a white lie I have a rare habit of doing.
![]() Now I have an odd little story. Years ago I seen an eagle in a tree and it looked like a bald eagle so I got binoculars out and I swear it had to be one of those African Fish Eagles that look similar I can remember it like yesterday and it still confuses me.

I just found more photos of the same bird posted on a local birdwatcher website. It was seen and photographed in the same area by someone who was closer. And they reported that it was seen soaring with a normally colored Redtailed.
