Albino Hawk
I think this is an albino Red Tail Hawk that I saw today. Just couldn't get close enough for a good photo.

Awesome, I see some color on the tail feathers so it may be leucistic instead of albino.

I was excited to see it. My first albino/semi-albino animal of any kind. As I drove by it was flapping trying to hold a perch in the tree and I thought it looked like a hawk rather than an heron so I did a u-turn. After I got a couple of pictures it flew further back down the bayou. The body bulk, posture and flight was definitely buteo. I think the Cooper's-like pose in the picture is from trying to hold on to an iffy perch. And I say Red Tailed because they are so common in the Red River valley in winter.
I try to keep binoculars and camera with me all the time in case I see something interesting. Glad you like it. |

Cool, I wonder if he tastes like a Bald Eagle or more like a Spotted Owl?
Just joking around, a beautiful creature whatever it is. Thanks for sharing it with us.
