Very nice day on the River!!! what where you fishing?? Nymphs, Streamers??? the water looks very inviting indeed...

Haven't kept Trout in years, but those frying up do look tasty. was the meat Red, pink or orange??

Great way to spend a Winter's day..Fishing for Trout.

They were hitting a olive midge or a #16 black long rubber leg. The meat is very light pink. I like them. Some people don't.

There are several dams across the south that have cold water discharge year round, and rainbow are stocked as an economic engine. Louisiana has none that I know of, but OK and AR have many, and I think there are a few in TX. There are several in N AR that have Brown and Rainbow. The closest to me is Lake Greeson Dam on the Little Missouri River. In the spring they put new fish in every few weeks and post a schedule on their website.

Tuck, it looks like you had a great day. Those look larger than what I see in S AR. I think I will get some OP out of the freezer, you got me hungry.

Some trout I catch and cook, too. No sense let 'em all go; they taste too good.
