Hamilton Pool

More images from Hamilton Pool, a preserver open to the public just west of Austin, Texas. It was cool and overcast but I had the place to myself.

Oh, how the ancients must have loved this place. Hamilton Creek empties into the Pedernales River about a quarter mile or less from here.

The overhang is deeper than it appears. See the ripples in the pool from water seeping from the roof edge.

That is a gorgeous spot! I would love to see it. I'm in SW Missouri, we have quite a few caves here. There is a similar formation on the Buffalo River in Arkansas a little ways from here. A very pretty area.
