Can Anyone Identify these tracks? Thanks.

While arrowhead hunting in the ice and snow, I found lot's of these tracks. They were in a remote area in Northeast Kansas. Can anyone assist with identification? I thought maybe coyote since they are prolific in this area. Thanks.

Thems cat tracks. You can tell cause there are no claw marks. All dog tracks show claw marks. If the size of a silver dollar then they are bobcat. If as big as your fist then Mountain lion.

Kent, Mountain Lion tracks in the creek? Wow!! You should set up a few trail cameras with some bait. I know what you mean about the poor arrowhead hunting climate. My creeks are frozen and the gravel bars are snow covered. It's very frustrating. I was going to go again today, but what's the sense; can't see the artifacts through the snow and ice. We need a few days of heavy rain and some warmer temperatures.

Kent, I bought a 357. mag for this very reason. I occasionally hunt an area that produces very well but I have seen and/or heard a large cat there several times. I do not hunt there alone anymore.

Yep- retractable claws = Cat. The only thing that bothers me hunting alone are Big Cats ( cougars )..and their populations here are sharply rising. Gonna start packing a pistol this year as well... having had 2 close Cat encounters in 3 yrs.

Looks like a Bobcat to me.

Just a reminder: If you're planning to carry a handgun, make sure you understand your state hunting/handgun regulations. Some states are pretty stinky about that sort of thing.

Depending on the time of year and where I'm going, I'll "borrow" my wife's Ruger Vaquero in .38/.357. I'll alternate chambers with snake shot and .357.
Haven't had to shoot it yet and I hope it stays that way.

Here, I have to have my concealed permit and hunting liscense and I MUST carry concealed.
