How many of you hunt morel mushrooms? Anyone been finding yet?

They should be popping up any day now with all this warm weather and rain!! I started finding them around the 14'th of April last year!

if it dont cool off too much they will be up here real soon..i know a couple people already finding the false morels

Average day to find morels in the k.c. Area is the 11th of April , can't wait! They go real good with them crappie filets

my buddy has found 300 greys already this year around St. Louis, but I went yesterday with no luck.

I went and bid a job this morning. Got done with that "got the job the way" so I decided to go mushroom hunting and I found fourteen yellow's and that was it for the day. I have a feeling it is a little early but soon this week perhaps.

i have found about a dozen....not reall big but they count in my eyes. believe it or not i think we need a gentle short rain to get them poppin.....the top of the ground where i was huntin is gettin pretty dry and crusty already

The morel hunt is in full swing here. I personally don't hunt them but use it as an excuse to get off my place and away from chores to ride my new 4-wheeler. Last Sunday there were 11 4-wheelers with a bunch of 'ol geezers ridin' the county line (dirt) roads. Great fun!
