Glass Balls : like arrowheads from the ocean
My sister and son found a nice one tonight..Bet you inland guys don't see many of these Japanese floats..

Sorry..they old glass Net floats made in Japan.. They will hold in giant debris piles in the Pacific for years..Every year we get a few weeks of prime tides and straight West wind that brings them ashore and we hunt'em...You literally have to find them tumbling into shore from the water or they get snatched up fast..They range in size from a baseball to a basketball.

I have always been fascinated by those. I would think that they would show up here on the central coast of California but I have never found one.

I like the glass, and those are great historical finds! Remind me of "target balls" that I have seen. Also looks like you have gone wild on that kitchen backsplash...lol

Back in the 1970s, when I was working and bottle digging around Eureka, CA, we would cruise down the beach after every storm. I found many of those green glass floats, and some with netting attached, too. They had to have floated around the Pacific for dozens, if not 50, or more, years. Some may still be in use, but I'm not sure. Finding them today must be a thrill. Good on 'ya, Trask.
