Honeybee's

I found this huge nest of honeybees down by my cabin. It is really a rare one, most of the time they are in hollow trees I have never seen an unprotected one before.

They built it out in the Open like that to show they don't take gruff from anyone...

I've never seen one out in the open like that either. Pretty wild. I'd be a little wary of that thing.

Wow, very cool! great pics. If you've ever had raw unprocessed honey there's no comparison...my dad's neighbor produces some and I swear to G, it's the closest thing you'll ever get to tasting sunshine!
I give bottles of it to the farmer's that let me hunt their fields.

I used to get honey from a couple near me for years and in the last couple they got out of it because the said they had a problem with all thier bees starting to die off. They bought 100,000 and gave it another try with no luck....same thing. They were thinking it might be because of the cell phone towers.. Microwaves ?? I hope it's just thiers cause you know what it means if the bees die off.

I've never seen one out in the open either, thats pretty cool. Winnie the Pooh could'nt have been around !!

Thanks, after I read your post I realized these bees will never make it through an Illinois winter in the open like that. I have called a bee keeper and he is coming down Sunday to see if he can get them. He agreed that they will surely die with the first freeze. Hopefully he can get them.
