Our vintage camper

We bought it about a month ago because we got tired of tenting it on our weekend arrowhead hunting adventures. It's a 1963 14 ft. Yellowstone and sure beats sleeping in a tent. The picture of it orange and green is what it looked like when we bought it. We've been working hard to get it looking sharp.

What do you all camp in?

I like it, looks great! Been looking for a decent one like that to restore myself.

Desert, we found ours on Craigslist. We looked for a long time for this one and i was heartbroken many times thinking we missed out on a good camper and I'm glad we didn't buy the other ones because this one was waiting for us. We got a great price on it. Only the 4th owners and still has a title, which is rare for an old one.

If you are looking for one, expand your search to a radius around where you live on Craigslist. Link me to some you like and I can help you when it comes to what kinds of questions to ask about it and whatnot.

I'll be happy to help you get your hands on an old one. They are so cool. I live in a turn of a century home and it seems like everything was made better before 1970/80.

I really like the retro look. You guys did a great job. Finding one in good enough shape to restore is difficult. I camp in Fleetwood E3 tent trailer and I love it. It has a front deck that I can put a 4 wheeler on.

The thing about the vintage campers is that they are usually rough on the inside or usually partially or entirely gutted. Someone tears out the interior with hopes to restore it and they lose momentum. This one is in great shape on the inside. I probably wont do much to it other than replace the ceiling paneling that has some rippling from water damage. We will throw in some new insulation at that point. I might get a wild hair to do other things to the inside later. Right now i'm exhausted from all of the exterior work!

Uhaul Camper

I bought this little egg on wheels for $600. Its a 13ft fiberglass camper made by uhaul and is much like a scamp.

jbridered, those are so cute. Look like a toy or something. I hear they are very light and easy to pull. We looked a couple of those and i really liked them. Burros, Scampers and Casitas are very pricey and hard to find. You have a jewel on your hand right there.

I paint boats, jet skies, motorcycles, rv's and the occasional airplane on a daily basis and I have to say that is a pretty nice paint job and the colors seem to work well together.
Adding the before pictures really makes the new paint job stand out.
I got my hands on a Kayot deck boat I am going to totally restore. Although it is still usable I am going to gut it and install a new transom, stringers and floor. There will also be new carpet, maybe new seats and probably all new hardware. Sounds like overkill but it will be mine so I am going to make it a cherry. Oh yeah it will get a killer paint job.
