Another Mountain Lion shot in Missouri...

Earlier this month I posted a thread regarding a mountain lion that was shot in northern Missouri by a farmer. Now a second cougar has been shot by hunters. This is the fourth confirmation of mountain lions in Missouri since November. Interestingly, the state denies that there is an active breeding population of mountain lions in the state. Hmmm.... Anyway, I'm not sure why these knuckleheads shot the cougars unless they honestly felt like their lives were in danger. I'm not exactly a tree-hugger by any means, but I wish they were not killed. Anyway, here's the article...

IM not sure if its the same story but The one I seen on The news said Coyote hunters felt like it was a Threat to them so they killed it. I know they could be A Threat if they wanted but seeing is beleiving.

Some people are just going to kill anything that can be killed.

I remember popping a rabbit that jumped out once, for the sole reason that it was running and I had a shotgun. I wasn't rabbit hunting, I wasn't going to eat it, I just killed it for sport. When I thought about what I had just done, killing one of God's creatures to amuse myself, I said never again. I was a stupid kid and that was a real awakening.

I had pretty much the same experience as a kid. To this day I do not hunt although I do kill an occasional feral hog as they have become quite the nuisance and the population is exploding exponentially.

Mt. Lions are sacred and should be treated as such. If a human is attacked its different. I feel bad for the animals and hope someone is awakend in the Mizzou govmt.

I had a problem with MT Lions killing goats that I use for brush control. So I called fish and Game for a depredation permit instead they sent 3 state trappers and there dogs. They showed up within an hour and 45 minutes latter they had treed and shot 3 lions I wont call again goats are cheap and plentiful. I've only seen 5-6 mt lions in the last 65 years.

I feel bad about any of God's creatures killed senselessly however mountain lions are not any more " sacred " than a wolf or hoot owl . And they are very dangerous to humans . I suppose man's encroachment on their habitat is a major problem in this whole deal ; And man's desire to " handle/ manage anything he cannot control .

Having said that ----yeah--- my heart is saddened by the sight of that magnificent creature lying dead for no reason other than he was doing what he was made to do by God .
