New Early Record

February 20th - Saw my first snake out and about. This has got to be the earliest I've ever seen a snake out. It was about an 18 inch Western Ribbon Snake making it's way throush some blue stem grass above a creek. Certainly got my attention because I wasn't expecting it. Was too fast for me to catch/get pics.

High of 83 degrees here in Austin today....

Mud snake

Feb. 25 I caught a mud snake in one of my crawfish traps. Got my attention until I seen his red belly.
