This seems intentionally misleading, being that it is reported as a new discovery and said to be near Salado. It is the Friedkin site on Buttermilk creek, a meer 200 yards downstream of Gault. In my mind it's the same site, there were no property lines there 15,000 years ago. All indications are that PreClovis is an absolute cetainty at the Gault farm and across the fence at the CSFA dig.
Center for the Study of the First Americans Great work by all involved, someone just need to go ahead and publish some detailed reports for us laymen! http://popular-archaeology.com/issue...go-study-shows "This [the Friedkin site] discovery provides ample time for Clovis to develop," said Waters. "People [of the Buttermilk Creek Complex] could have experimented with stone and invented the weapons and tools that we now recognize as Clovis....in short, it is now time to abandon once and for all the "Clovis First" model and develop a new model for the peopling of the Americas."

Very possible about the dig, Mr Crain. My thoughts are it's an Aggie vs. Texas (UT) On the oldest dig in Texas. Gault School of Archaeological Research :: Home

Gotta agree. From what I understand, there's no separation between the sites -- just contemporary property lines that dice up one big ancient site. There's a third section of the site that's for sale by an oriental business owner. If I bought it, I'd name it the Korean Laundry Site.
