Arrowhead Boards Closings

I was very sad to learn of Andy Sizemore's death and the subsequent death of Arrowheadforums (where I was a long time member). Now I understand that Texas Cache is closing up shop too--another sad moment for our hobby. I made a lot of good friends and acquaintances at those places. I hope I can do the same here. I will sorely miss them. I wonder whose next.

Andy owned the board and was the administrator. A monkey wearing glasses was his avatar.

Maybe the other members of those boards will find their way here?

Patti Even is a really nice lady and did a good job with the Cache. I was glad to see her take it over from Bob McWilliams, whom I never cared for.

I knew Andy and have dug with him before. I used to visit arrowheadforum a while back in fact that is where I met Tdog and quite a few others.
I know Pat Even and used to dig with her a lot. I got banned a few times from TexasCache because I call things like I see them. I finally got back on only to leave the site on my own because Pat was having to bow down to some of the forum members that advertize with her. Instead of losing Pat as a friend I decided to just leave the forum for good, SideShowBob is dead. I really hated doing that because the ones that run me and others off have only let the forum die.

I was wondering why I couldn't access the site anymore.. that is unfortunate about Andy, may he rest in peace..

I met a number of you Fine folks there before this site came online : Tdog, Bobby, Arrow719, Nyatt, etc....

sad indeed to see another site go away....

I used to post over there quite a bit but I left before Andy died because of being harrassed by a Mod on there. He was very racist so I told Andy to delete my account and I never went back. It was a shame too because I really liked the site. I never got on Texas Cache so I don't know about that one.

I'd say the PROSB site might be next. Not much activity there anymore. You can post something there and check it a few days later and it will have at best one or two responses.

Andy

Andy was a good friend of mine...went on my first dig with Andy year before last and he tore up the backhoe! I went to see him in the hospital when he was sick... I never joined or lurked on the arrowheadforrums or any other site but alot of what I know is because of Andy....

PROS was the first board I ever joined. I met Lewis Smith there and a couple of others whom I respect. I never got much feedback on what I posted over there--maybe because there was not many south east collectors there. Also could be that nobody cared about the "POOTERS" I was finding and posting. Still, I hope it stays alive. If not, like the other closings, I hope they find their way here.
