My unsolicited two cents' worth :

The idea that Clovis migrated into the (previously uninhabited) new World over the Berungian Land Bridge during the last glaciation was the Law and the Gospel in archaeology until fairly recently. Not because it had all that much to recommend it, but because it accorded so perfectly with the axioms laid-down as unasailable truths by Franz Boas. For nearly 75 years, every discussion or presentation of Clovis had to begin with a reiteration of the Clovis-First-and-Out-of-Siberia dogma, which nothing was allowed to contradict. That dogma was the litmus test by which the evidence was evaluated. If it didn't accord with the Boasian dicta, it was thrown out or explained-away.

Today, we are watching a virtual re-play of this with the DNA business. Every presentation of which has to begin with and validate the Out-of-Africa model. The presentations, in fact, are often little more than opportunities to repeat the dogma, establishing it in the public mind through force of repetition (as if 1,000,000 X = >0).

That's why I distrust it -- because it's coming from the same outfit that brought us "out of Siberia" as the answer to the question of where people here came from (and when), using the same techniques (congruent with those used in propaganda and advertising campaigns).

Guess what! there were these big birds that never landed because they were full of helium. I think that they were red with a blue left foot. I don't remember there name but I think that is was over 24 millon years old. They eat the dung of the three toed sluths because they found some in a mouth of one of the skulls they found in the 30's. Even though this is not true, it goes to show as a FREE country that we live in are told what they want us to know and that we are all pig headed in what we think is the right thing. How can we really tell what and who we really are. The more and more we learn about the past goes to show what my grand parents were told in school is not going to be the same thing my 2 year old is going to be tought in school. Schools have changed sence I have been in school and I am 30 something years old. I can only imagen what you old farts were tought in school. Look at the trouble we brought with telling everyone that we need to work to make money.

I was in no way makeing fun of anyone, I was just saying that we all get worked up over what is and what isn't. I was talking about the story not the post. Yes my post was crazy but so is how people react to how we were made and where we cam from. I guess I hit a sore spot with some people. We are tought what we think is right today and who knows what will be found out in the future. I was agreeing with Uniface I guess in my own way that others do not understand.

Was it because i call you guys old? It was in left field I will give you that but so is alot of what is tought to use from our past. I know we get out of the data what is there and sometime have to fill in the blank with what we think is best fit. The world was flat for the longest time until someone didn't belive that it was and set out to prove it. It take one person to start a war not the army. We as people want to know where we can from and I find it hard to think that we can say fully where we are from because, the data is only as good as you make it and you can take out the parts you don't like.

I was raised Baptist,,,first Strike,,,,Then I studied Zen,Buddism,,,That got me hated roundly From my conservative family.
Today ,,,,I am an Agnostic open to plausable explanations to our existance,,,not Birds filled with Helium,,,or any other Bull,,,I have had way to much of FAIRYTALE teaching to read such dribble,,,,
