"Tom Dillehay, the chair of the anthropology department at Tennessee's Vanderbilt University, suggested that it's time to lay the Clovis-first model to rest."

Well it's about time!

Thanks for the post.

They pretty much did that at the "Beyond Clovis" conference in 1999.
Dillehay has been screaming it for years...

That article was written back in 07 I see and still the predominant theory is Clovis first. Isn't it about time to accept it, move on and rewrite some books? Thanks for the link.

I would think there would be a renewed sense of excitement within the arch community but it seems like the whole pre Clovis deal is burdensome. I don't get it, how many more early sites will it take?

I really don't understand why the folks that don't accept the Clovis-first thing are the ones that keep bringing it up.
The world has pretty much accepted it. Move on....

How else could they get in the news? Both innovators and contrarians seem to garner attention. Letting it go might dim the limelight for some of them.
