No shows. No talkin' it up. The stuff already posted on the internet drives interest and I don't believe it really serves our interest. With increased hunter interest you'll have a portion that will piss-off farmers, gain the attention of the authorities and generally screw things up for those of us that are generally trying to be nice folks and enjoy the hobby while it lasts. Well Fly I really hate to admit it but I am selfish. We have so little in CA, at least that I know of, I'm not really inclined to take anyone out with me. Just me and a couple of friends. And I don't like saying this because I've been treated so extremely well by people in Texas. People have been quick to share their sites and help me get started with this whole "digging thing" as opposed to just walking around staring at the ground. Just very nice helpful people. Not like Californians............er me anyway.

You're right, I'm not speaking for everyone but when it comes to my hunting spots I'm a selfish, greedy, lying bastard. Other than that I'm a nice guy. It takes alot of time and effort to secure spots that will produce. That's why I hunt solo 99% of the time, you let someone on your spot and before you know it everybody and their great grandma is out in your field.

Internet artifact message boards have really multiplied the amount of competition, I think a tv show would only make matters worse.

Flyjunkie is right. It's like a hunting spot is sacred to me. I don't want people even to see my vehicle when I'm out hunting. You go through so much to get permission to hunt these locations I feel that I would never want to disclose where these sites are to anyone much less take somebody with me out there. I've had people say to me " I 'll go with you next time that you go out." All the while I'm thinking that you'll never go near my spots. Making a production out of point hunting I feel is totally out of place for most of us who kind of fly under the radar.
