World Oldest Axe
I thought this was pretty cool. They think they have found the worlds oldest axe. There is no picture of the axe though!

At first I thought they must have found something pre-Atcheulean (sp?), something at the dawn of Homo Erectus. But it is interesting to see what they are talking about -- the evolution of grinding. It could've easily developed on axes before points, too.
And in Australia. Pretty strange they are technologically innovating out there in the middle of nowhere in the ocean, while at same time the Americas were supposedly a large vacant lot. |
