Native Americans discovered Europe

Well, not quite, but this is still a very interesting discovery.........

That's IS intersting and sounds quite plausible. I've followed a few theories that are based on genetic testing and what occurs to me is that they more they map things the more they really aren't sure what the hell they are doing. Sometimes it seems to make more confusion than sense and the contradictory nature of it has people wondering about the validity of conclusions based on it.

Thanks for the link.

I think a lot of appears to be contradictory because of the "subclade" testing that is being done now. I've been involved in a Y-DNA genealogical project for 6 years and it is fascinating. Each year your ancestral roots (haplotype) is divided into more and more sub groups as the testing gets more sophisticated and more participants join. A few years back one's haplotype might indicate no more than European origin whereas now it can be broken down to very specific geographic areas that might appear contradictory to the major group.

The notion of a Viking taking a Native American back with them seems, as you mentioned, quite plausible to me. Now if we didn't know about the early Viking visits it would be a heckuva mystery.
