Northwest Get Together: Calling any Great Basin or Pacific Northwest folks

A new friend of mine moved to Salem Oregon from Ohio where he was active in many Societies ect...He was surprised that we have little activity of such a nature in the PNW and Far West...


So we decided to give it a whirl..

Who and where would you guys/gals like to have an informal Share/Trade ect..I have 4 and myself from my area committed to travel up to 8 hrs.We would like to rent a private Conference center for a weekend or day and split the cost...

I'm interested. Hopefully you'll get some more replies and that will make it easier to find an accommodating meeting place. Off the top of my head I thought Reno, NV. or maybe Susanville, CA? Grants Pass, OR? Just throwing out ideas...

If it's primarily Oregon and Washington Folks then Salem or Bend is the most Central point..I like Bend as it offers the ability to go out for a hunt in short order and hunting with new friends is always fun.

I'm always interested in meeting fellow collectors and talking rocks and NW prehistory. What did you and your friend from Ohio have in mind? Your post hints at several subjects Society Group, a Show, a Get-together and an Artifact Hunting. If you decide to move forward and set something-up, let me know.
