If you could make it rain...would you?

Saw this the other day and found it interesting...although i think it's highly unlikely. For those times when you need it to rain...cough up $7 mill and get yourself one of these rainmakers!

That is Big Medicine. I'd take that back in my time machine and be the greatest Chief in the land. I'd take back some smallpox vaccines too!

I'm going to invest less and build a front end loader that has a screen for a bottom of the scoop. It will be able to lift out the dirt and then shake it down. I won't need your damn rain!!!!!!!!

It's a frightening concept, because the rain you make was going to fall somewhere else. It would not be very long at all before someone decided they'd take the rain to make a profit from it. Imagine if all the corporate farmers started sucking up all the rain for their crops and there wasn't any left for the rest of us. God is probably best left in charge of the rain falling on the just and the unjust alike, IMHO.

I think they stretched the headlines a bit. There are a lot of areas in Dubai and Abu Dhabi where it gets foggy in the morning, but doesn't rain. I think these types of devices allow the fog to "clump" and form droplets big enough to fall.
