The State of Texas and our good Governor,have proposed slicing deep into The Texas State Historical Commission,The Arts Commission,The Preservatoin Commission,and the Parks Dept.

Look at the bright side, Comanche, maybe they will have to de-accession some of the millions of artifacts they have rotting in the basements of their museums, and some of us collectors who really enjoy displaying and discussing them may get a chance to be their "stewards."

What's really weird is your Governor doesn't want to touch his "Rainy Day Fund". Instead, cut education, and all social services programs.

I haven't voted for him in any of his dynasty.

After the shady stunt the THC pulled last year with its so-called "graves protection law," they deserve to get their funding cut - and I'm a professional historian! That law was a flagrant attack on private property rights.

I apologize to all members of this forum. My political rhetoric has not place in a forum like this. I will express my opinions at the polling booth from now on.

I serve on the funding committee of a corporate charitable foundation that funds grant request to first responders and non-profit social services organizations. I have seen the good these groups provide to all citizens of this area. I get touchy with the proposed cuts in Texas. The people of Texas chose this governor so I will let it be.

Again, sorry for the rant.

By all means, rant! I've met the governor several times, he's a nice man but that doesn't help in the way these cuts will effect our State! How bout some border patrol, then we can do without some of these cuts, cause the funding is going to other outlandish agendas! Oh well! Politics these days are a joke at the state and national level anyways!

We had all be prepared for anything right now, I just got back from Washington DC where I spoke with congressmen and women and a few senators. They have frozen our pay raises, which I can live with if it helps the debt situation. But now they have a hiring freeze so we cannot adequately staff the prison I work at. This is dangerous for us and the communities. Now the newest attack is to send us all home without pay for two weeks. What’s next?? And to think I served in Iraq, and Bosnia for a government who does not really care!!

Ok that will be my one Political opinion on this site for the year.... I digress Bullet
