Amick explains misdemeanor mishap
Amick explains misdemeanor mishap - The Loyola Phoenix: Campus However, as Amick explained in an interview with the Phoenix, the situation is significantly more complicated. “I didn’t take any artifacts,” Amick said. According to Amick, the removal of artifacts was not a transfer of goods, but a transfer of information. The artifacts were originally removed from unmarked federal land by amateur archaeologists, and were never technically in Amick’s possession. However, according to Amick, if an artifact is removed from federal property and an outside party records information about it such as measurements and photographs, the archaeologist is then considered in possession of that item, which is what occurred in Amick’s case. Amick stated that he was aware that there was a potential need to have a permit in order to legally record information about the artifacts in question. He noted that a colleague also recommended he pursue obtaining a permit before proceeding. Nevertheless, Amick, who could have potentially been fined or received jail time for his offense, feels the situation was blown out of proportion by the media. “My attorney and I were both shocked at the response that occurred,” Amick said. |

Sovereigns or subjects. We have let our government turn evolution upside down. we are devolving at the same time that we are told that the central planners are showing us the more enlightened future that is possible. What does freedom mean to people in the modern world. Won't be long before you hear a knock at your door and standing there will be the representative of the bureau of national treasures to collect the "fees" not taxes on items in your possession. And since they were not paid beforehand he will have to confiscate said items for the greater good.
On the archaeological signifigance of surface finds, 40 years ago i found a mammoth leg bone exposed at the surface and not more than three feet away was a perfect one inch long, three notched Harrell point. Thank you for your thoughts Uniface. |
