Sheds

Heres my best set from last year. The brown horn I found 2 yrs. ago, found the bleached one last Oct. I think I'll mount these on a skull.I thought the little one was cool because antlers here don't get chewed on as much as they do farther east, so I dont see them chewed like that very often.

Do sheds have much value? If so I should probably start keeping them when I come across them.

Yes they do. They are sold by the pound, and the age makes a difference.Good brown elk antlers usually go for around 12-14$ a pound.Deer a little less.Large or very unique antlers are worth $ depending on size or rarity, or both.

Just thought I would toss this out there....Will ya trade some fossils or artifacts for a couple of sheds?I like to make stuff out of them...Charms,game pieces and such.I work them the same way "those who came before us" did.

Yep Arrow, the oriental folks grind them up and eat them for aphrodesiacs..lol. I always pick them up and carry them back, even the really old rotted ones, got a stack out back. Sometimes, ya even find full racks at the thrift stores for a couple of bucks.

I don't remember who it was and I can't find the thread but there was someone on here about a year ago that posted a TON of sheds they had found. Like, hundereds. Anyone recall who or which thread.
