Pevely Dairy & some other bottle
If I find a a whole bottle that looks old or even a whole top I usually will pick them up. I found a large 2 litre glass bottle that had a coca cola cap on it and gave it to a friends mother who collects coca cola stuff.
![]() I found this Pevely dairy bottle sticking out of a little creek bank where alot of other old trash and thought why not rinse it out. Found this small bottle yesterday and am curious if anyone knows what they were commonly used for and when? Last edited by Fluff effect; 08-20-2011 at 05:04 PM. |

The bigger one is a milk bottle, I'm guessing from between the 40's and 60's. I don't know what the small one is but we have some bottle gurus here that probably do.

Bottom looks like a shoe polish bottle from the same era.

Thanks, I was hoping it was something really old cause there was a train wreck in the 1800's in the creek the small bottle came from.

The little bottle is a poured mold bottle... after 1910. If I read the punt mark correctly, it is an Owens Illinois bottle from the 50's. Nice stuff just not from the 1800's. Anything that old is going to be hand blown.
The milk bottle is definitely collectable, fldwlkr |
