1911 pistols
I'm a 1911 man... Even if it is a Taurus.. Pretty tricked out gun for $600
I'll be upgrading to a nice springfield/colt/kimber soon. I replaced the factory grips with a set of VZ Aliens. But this Taurus is a shooter. Lets see yours |

Here's my .45, Springfield XD, with a 13 round extended double stack mag. Streamlight tlr 2 laser / light combo is a good match on this pistol I think. Cycles well, never had a jam, great shooter. Only picture I have of it.
That Taurus is nice, I like those grips. Is that g10 material.

I'm a fan. This is my COLT M1991A1
Reliability, accuracy, feel, power... You just can't beat 'em. Were I a carry conceal person I would elect to have a Glock 21 in .45 due to the DA and trigger safety. But the look of the 1911 style can't be beat in my opinion.

I agree, I like the look of the 1911's, I had a Colt Combat Commander but I couldn't hit a barn door with the thing....sold it off and now I'm a Sig guy....the P220 rules!!

I've had a lot of 1911's..well, guns in general. Here's a few of the 1911's that I have / had. These are all mine, or were mine at one time. Unfortunately, I had to sell a few to fund housing renovations. The pics are large, so I'll just include links to them instead of the pics.
Here's a pair of Caspians that I built some years back. On the left is a "race" 1911, mostly wilson internals with some Nowlin. On the right is a carbon frame caspian, etc. http://www.okfirearms.com/images/caspians.jpg Next up is a WWII Remington Rand, unfortunately it was chrome plated. http://www.okfirearms.com/images/rrand.jpg Next is a Kimber Pro Carry II (one of my favs) and a Springfield Arm. Ultra Compact. I put "thin" grips & bushings on the Kimber and LOVE them. Thin grips completely change the feel of a 1911 and make them more comparable to Kahr's in terms of carry. The grip panels are Chip McCormick double diamond rosewood. The Springer has Cocobola smooth thin grips on it. http://www.okfirearms.com/images/kimberspringer.jpg http://www.okfirearms.com/images/Kprocarry.jpg Next - Unfired Colt 1991-A1. They only produced these parkerized models in 2 years (first 2 years of production for them-1991,1992), this one is pure mint. http://www.okfirearms.com/images/guns/colt1991.jpg There's also a Kimber Custom II, RIA, etc....but believe it or not, 1911's aren't my favorite platform, lol.
