I do collect modern points but

I do like a good modern made point when it is represented as modern but fakes are starting to get under my skin. In the past I was lucky enough to score some ancient artifacts for reasonible prices and resell them if I got bored with them or needed the money so I kept an eye out at antique malls and even flea markets (now I know) so last couple years I have been taken advantage of by sellers stating these are personal finds and thats just wrong. I had the big mehlville scoped at collinsville for a verbal appraisal and was told its been sanded and buffed and then decided not to waste anymore money. Waiting on a mod to tell me if its ok to post these in for sale section (dont want to be banned) so just posting here for now I guess. They are all most likely fake and if your Hammer needs a workout please dont hesitate to personal message.

good to see somebody with some honesty!! I know ALOT of people that would say they found them or try selling them as authentic to try to get back what they had in them.. Sorry to hear, Fluff, but theirs alot of people that can't afford the real deal that i'm sure would appreciate the art and hang them in their living rooms anyway.. It's an ugly aspect of this hobby that's been going on for years.. Hope you cache soon and find ten of the REAL deal!!

Sorry to hear you got burned. If you are looking to sell them, I wouldn't mind having one to show others how well they can be faked, I think it would be good to have in a collection and have "replica" or "fake" written on it in permanent marker.

I do have an obsidian fake that's rather large, but I'd like a flint one as well, so if you still have them then please let me know. Thanks.
