I collect early cards pre-1940 from Eastern KY towns Ashland,Catlettsburg,Raceland,Russell,Greenup,Gray son,Olive Hill etc....! Plus Ironton Ohio,Portsmouth Ohio and Huntington WV and everywhere in between both sides of the Ohio river. I also am looking for older Military postcards and baseball, football, basketball team and player postcards.

I have a friend that collects old B&W postcards of old world buildings and architecture. You know Paris and the like. Once you really look at them I can see how that would be a fun hobby.

I bought a collection the other day and found a postcard that is postmarked 1903 from Texas. It is a real photo postcard of a frame of Texas points that some dude was proud enough of to have some postcards made up back when that was a popular thing to do. I have never seen another real photo postcard depicting arrowheads so I was shocked when I found it. I will get a big scan up Monday. I am going to search google and see if I can find other cards like this one.

I just found a stash of family ones. How is the best way to store them so they don't deteriorate?

You can buy some postcard sleeves online to put them in and a shoebox is ideal for storing them. Or you can buy Postcard sheets that hold 4 on a sheet and display them in a 3 ring binder like you would baseball cards. I like this idea because they are easy to look thru this way.

Native Americans used this long before the Nazis. The Germans also flipped it over. I have seen one instance where this was used in a contact period petroglyph, in Arizona. I have also seen it in early rugs and blankets.

I was lucky to find an old postcard from 1904, taken at my favorite site ever.
