I watch them all the time where I work. From Blue Herons to Seasonal Orioles. Love listening to them too

I love to see all wild-life but there is just somthing about birds of prey that fasenate me! I espesialy like owls, when you can get them all worked up hooting back and forth at them it can put the perfect end to a night in the woods!

I love when I see an Owl. It's not often I do. We had a Barred Owl that would be in the same tree about 10 o clock am everyday for about a month. You could pretty much walk right up under him and he'd just sit there and watch. I haven't seen him yet this year. We were doing some work in the woods one day and we stopped to take a break and we had an owl take off right over our heads. About scared us to death, we had no idea he was there lol. In the Fall season we get alot of Raptors, haven't seen but a couple of Red Tails lately.

I am a bird watcher. We feed the birds here year round, right now the hummers are keeping me busy filling feeders. In the winter we pick up road killed deer to attract Eagles, it also brings Hawks. I take lots of pictures too. Joyce

This is last pic I took a couple days ago of what I guess was a young blue heron. It was about a foot tall and too hyper to get a good pic of. I like birds of prey most though.

that's awesome guys. glad im not the only freak who enjoys birds. this yrs been quite the year for birds here in the hudson valley of ny. speaking of owls i spooked a barn owl about a week ago and she just sat in the tree watching me for a few minutes. i had never seen an owl in the wild. i thought it was awesome. but that same day we were treated with a couple baltimore orioles, a redstart, and a few yellow warblers.

I try to pay attention to everything when I am outdoors. I like knowing all the species of plants, animals, fish, reptiles, and insects. I keep field guides on all of them. I keep a good pair of binoculars handy at all times. We get warblers migrating through in the spring which is the time of year I pay most attention to birds. I like to identify birds by song when I am out walking. I have yet to see a Barn Owl. We have Screech Owls in the back yard, and you can get within 10 feet of them some times. When I was a kid I always had something in a cage, turtles, snakes, squirrels, rabbits .... I would keep them for a while and let them go.
