See if ya can read "liberty" on the headband. If not only worth about $3-4 bucks. The one you want to find is the 1877....In good condition $900 bucks!

I got a 1859 IHP in change about 10 years ago, and the cashier told me she wanted it back when I saw what it was. I told her "Sorry!"

I did the same thing once with an 1864 IHP. I got it in change at a store and when I said something the cashier asked for it back and I said sorry as well. I still have it. I figured you just never know, it may have been in a soldiers pocket at one time during the Civil War.

Steve, There are two variety's of the 1864..with L and Without L. With a loupe check the lower ribbon behind the neck for an L. Also teh tip of the bust is pointed on the variety with the L and rounded without it. The L is for Longacre... the designer of the coin. With L $60-70 in good condition, Without L is $10-12. Mark. (hope ya got the L !)
