"Goonie Catchers"

"Goonie Catchers"----Treasures found other than indian artifacts.(in reference to the movie) Defined by my brother when we were grubbin an old dump for marbles/coins/jewelry etc. Well, one time we were grubbin' and he hollered out MF-N GOONIES,,, over and over!!!! A big ole diamond the size of an eraser appeared in his screen,, Surely not real, but he couldn't contain his excitement! When a killer marble appears in his screen he sings this crazy a$$ "marble song" he made up. Pretty damn annoying to tell you the truth. When he's found ten marbles and you hear the song for the tenth time (and I haven't found anything),,well,, it gets annoying as hell REAL quick, lol. So,, anyways,, we adopted the phrase "Goonie Catchers"

Hardly a single day goes by that I'm not looking for new headhuntin sites or that I don't visit my current honeyholes, etc. I may not come home with an artifact everyday,, but rarely do I go home completely skunked. Here's some recent "Goonie Catchers" suprise findings while headhunting! Enjoy and if you have any cool treasures you found,, let's see 'em!

Great pics, and a cool term!
We have one Indian camp we grub on when the water is high that is also an old farmstead, and we have found bottles, jewelry, buttons, and other cool white man artifacts there, all about 100 years old.

Good thread idea, some interesting finds. I didn't know until recently but those insulaters are highly collectible and some are worth some $. I'll have to dig through some pics and post some non-native surface finds.

Since you have the term "Goonie Catchers" you have to have the code for brokes:

"You idiot! - Oh, my God! Look, it's not broken. It's perfect. - Oh, my God! - What? - That's my mom's most favorite piece!"

Awesome cheif! First one I've found like that. I'm guessing the age on it to be around 1890's

Hope to see some MF-N Goonie Catchers!
Ghost,, I've seen a few in your posts, look forward to some pics!

Insulaters in colors other than clear and aqua are desirable but the clovis of insulaters are the threadless....telegraph era 1850s. Very valuable!
