Thrift Store, Rummage, Garage Sale Finds

Have you found something ya just can't leave behind? Found this 1950s era hammered copper picture for $1.50.

That is beautiful... not to mention it's probably worth more than $1.50 in copper in todays market.

How thick is it? Very detailed, looks like alot of time was spent on it. Thanks for sharing.

I found this bottle at our local big flea market. It was painted with a thick mauvish brush on paint. Looked horrible. Cost 50 cents. I saw a tiny, shiny yellowish spot on the handle where some of the paint came off. It looked similar to some ginger bottles and jugs I've found... When I got home I sprayed it with a thick paint remover, as it worked I thought about taking a before picture, LOL. It came out nice and is a good little whiskey jug from the 30's. I've found several glass and pottery items that were KILLER after taking paint off them. Keep a look out for these painted, hidden gems, LOL!

When I lived in SC I was at Myrtle Bch and found this watercolor at a yard sale in a trailer park that was on the beach. It's by Genevieve Wilcox Chandler a locally famous historian (slave's history) and artist, who died in 1980 or so. We've always liked it. Think I paid 5 dollars for it. Can't find anything about it unless I travel back to Myrtle Beach, actually Murrel's Inlet and ask around. I think locally these paintings by her are very valuable, like their Grandma Moses. Maybe a South Carolinian can help me!

I almost got my hands on a Chicago Tribune Newspaper front page in a frame of Custard's fall and the little big horn battle. I missed the bid by $2. I love Goodwilling and Yard Sale'n

That's a nice thrift store find Desert: makes me wonder what's going through the mind of the clerk that's setting the prices! Here's a copper tooling that my aunt did back in the late 40's (before we had television

I don't recognize the designs on that jug. That cooper engraving is great! Lately I've been picking up turned bowls, all kinds of wood, including burl, mahogany, ebony, walnut and cherry. Some of them are signed. But there's lots of modern bowlmakers, like arrowhead knappers, hahahaha!!

I found this 1928 Model A Ford Truck at a yard sale. I also bought a Barn at another yard sale by far my largest find.
