clovis new mexico button
I saw the post about civil war buttons and remembered a road trip 10 years ago. We found a house made of river rocks and mud, very old. the location as i recall was past the billy the kid grave. the only wood was the window frames and door frames, the nails were flatened at one end from a blacksmith. you could see places indians had sunk arorows in the windows. found this button, but could not find anything on net about it, must be old. Do you button experts have any ideas? also brought the threshold (in the antlers). also took a pic of can of anheiser canned water from hurricane rita. the army were giving us ice and canned food and water till town got running again. thanks army guys! just thought it was a cool piece out of my collection of stuff. just wanted to share. lovin the site guys, glad to be a part of it

Likely made by G&L Clothing, I think they made the Big Smith line. G&L goes back to 1917 so it's not older than that. Cool find though, and neat story.

My grandpa wore Big Smith overalls. Those buttons were on the top and sides. I'd forgotten that. Nice memory to float back to the surface.
