Good Day

Now, here's a good day for me. Finding old military stuff and an arrowhead!

Great stuff.
What's the story on the bullets? Army or Air Force ordinance?

Those are 58 Cal Mini. Union Army, circa 1858. In 1857, government soldiers were called to the Utah Territory to control the Indians and the Mormons. I have hunted some of the known campsites.

That's what I thought. They look like civil war bullets but that wouldn't make sense from your neck of the woods.

Very cool finds. Do you ever find any coins or jewelry on these camp sites?

I really need to borrow a metal detector sometime. There is a spot where a revolutionary war slaughter that took place on some land which was recently purchased by a friend who lets my hunt artifacts. Prior to that it was a "no trespassing" spot and only open once a year for a memorial. The story goes that the brits and their indian party got the fort to surrender and then the indians went wild and killed everyone anyway.

Plus there were 3 civil war battles in my county.

I'd like to find some minie balls or something.

Nice post of stuff. I like that sort of thing.

Steve, yes I have found coins, not as many as some others though. As far as jewelry, only the Masonic pin. Other folks have found jewelry, some quite nice. One of my favorite finds is the spur rowel made from a quarter. Some buttons included.
