New Moche/Chimu pieces

Just thought I would share my latest additions. Twin chambered Chimu piece that has a bird on one side that whistles when filled with water, came to me in 8 pieces and I'm working on the restoration, the fill work is done, some of the fill painting still needs to be gone over but I think it turned out looking good. Other piece is a moche figural jar, I've wanted one of these for a long time and couldn't pass this one up, has a small chip in the rim and a stess fracture so it was sold at a pretty good discount, luckily for me I couldn't care less about the chip and stress crack, I'll fix that up in no time!

I've always liked those Moche figure Jars.. the faces look like real human faces....
I use to be into studying the Native Americans of the Andes... but as time went by i studied them less often, focusing more on the USA.. til now I focus mainly on California & the Western Great Basin...

I still read about the ancient Cultures of the Andes.. but not as much..

Machu Pichu is still high on my list of "must Visit" places thought....

Cool! I too collect MesoAmerican pottery when I can find it. Here's another whistling waterbottle, this from the Chavin culture of Peru. It was indirectly from the Case-Western University Collection.
This one is solid and nicely detailed. They actually whistle as the liquid is poured out of them, from the liquid running towards the spout.

Aboman, ah yes, my bad, I blow in them all the time. Last one I had was a monkey one and it whistled out it's rear end, funny. That one is off to Germany this week though... had to fill the hole on my shelf and in my heart and got this one instead. Have any trading material? I have some nazca, mayan, chimu, jalisco, etc that I would be willing to trade for moche- just a thought.
