Guitar
Though I do not consider myself a collector of guitars I found myself with more than the average person but I do use most of them at various times. I just wanted to post a pic of the last guitar my dad bought my mother before her passing. when they brought it home I wondered down deep, "Why did you buy that"?? Its a mini-Martin, of the new composite material and not actually very pretty because of that fact. Its a 3/4 size because it fit my moms build and imobility at the time. Through the last year and a half because mainly it was handy, I have had it sitting by my side every day while I work on artifacts and use it to develop new songs for my worship team during the week.
I have come to love the composite material...no dings what so ever, regardless of what I have hit! A big plus as I not the type person who appreciate dings even on most and oldest guitars...just me. I gave my last electric flat top (A Dean) to a person at our Church and have been trying to decide what to buy to replace it....I needed a flat top. The new full size Martins of this material for the price, are the loudest guitars on the market w/o electricity. I had but all decided to buy one of those but kept thinking ....another guitar....I have so many now! I began to think of using this one pictured. I thought if I put electrics on it probably would sound ok and because of the size it would just be plain different. I like being different. One week I would say yes then the next no. Finally one Wednesday night at Church playing through a mike with this guitar the Lord gave me the direction to go. It would be the lil guy...as I call it "Lil Martin"...lol I decided on a pickup, made a pick guard for it, added my moms pic (gives me a lil feeling of her being with me playing like old times). I went wireless a few months ago and its a very easy to play flat top. The whole thing to me now is a keeper....the only problem, my other guitars are feeling a lil lost as I keep taking it to play instead of them...its just so easy to carry being small. ![]() Just in the mood to share the pic and story.

Nice story Gomer and nice guitar. I'm sure your mom is with ya when you play with that pick, that is a comforting thought.
Here's my one and only, a Gibson ES120T 1965 vintage, it's never been worked on but after the first of the year it's going for a ride to get a fret job and "tuned-up" by a Gibson authorized restoration guy. Hopefully I wont be without it for too long!!

That is a sweet litlle Martin Gomer....especially embelished with your mothers picture.
One of the dumbest things I ever did was get rid of the last 2 I had. I got in a tight spot and really had no choice, but I sold a Martin D-28 12 string and a Blonde1953 Gibson ES-175. Maybe someday I will get another, but my arthritis is bad now and I don't know if I can play very well. Thats OK though I enjoy others playing almost as much.
