DW Drum Kit from House of Blues

This is a set of DW Drums that was the house kit at the House of Blues in New Orleans for 6 or 7 years. A ton of great drummers have played on them and they are filled with that NOLA soul. I bought them on ebay about 5 years ago.

I think they got wet and the kick drum finish started to de-laminate so they sold these for charity and got new ones. "Turquoise Oyster Pearl" finish which must be some custom color because I can't find it on the web anywhere. It would cost too much for me to send them back to the factory. Doesn't hurt the tone.

22" bass, 8", 10", 12" and 14" toms, 14" snare. DW Drums are tested after they are made for their natural "note," it's stamped inside the shell, and these are in a bluesy key. The bass is E flat, for example. You can play that note on a piano and tune the drum to it, and as you get closer the drum will just open up and resonate with TONE.

The cymbals are some Zildjian As I bought when I was 14 along with a Zildjian K Crash and Rock Ride. Cheap Sabian splash and some kind of chinese crash. All the HW is DW and it weighs a ton.

I've been thinking about selling them and buying a smaller kit but don't know if I'd be happy.

If you are used to having 4 toms, you'll miss one if it's not there. If they sound good and feel good, I wouldn't sell them!
In the long run I've regretted selling almost every musical instrument I've ever sold.

I have those same regrets, for sure. Especially with guitars. And paleo points. But if you never let something go you never get any room for anything new.

I usually just use 2 toms. I feel like Neil Peart with all 4. The older I get, the smaller my kit. In 10 years I'll be down to just a bass drum, ha.

Mainly guitars for me. And one mandolin. Never sold any Paleo points!

Speaking of Neil Peart, here's a pic from of my band's drummer from a recent gig. His philosophy is, "if some is good, more is better!"

I had a Les Paul and traded it to a friend for her Martin. She started regretting getting rid of the Martin and ended up trading me a really great Taylor to get it back. It's hard to play but I just learned you can send them back to the factory for a complete neck set, etc.

I like that kit. He probably doesn't mind hauling it around with guitar players like you to help him

I'm a Martin guy myself. I have a few electrics, but play mostly acoustic. (6 string, 12 string, classical - If some is good, more is better, remember?) However I also haul 2 or 3 keyboards to a show so I don't get to help out too much with the drums.
Anyway, isn't that what lead singers are for?

Here's the acoustics I used on our latest album...

Nice collection! I see that dobro over in the corner. I've always wanted one. What brand is it?

My band is called Farpoint. We've put out 4 albums independently and have just finished recording our 5th for a small record label called 10T records based out of Atlanta, GA.
It will be out this spring.

You can listen to some songs at our Reverbnation page:
Farpoint | Dalzell, SC | Rock / progressive / experimental | Music, Lyrics, Songs, and Videos | ReverbNation

You can hear short clips of all songs at each album's CDBaby page:
CD Baby | Kevin Jarvis

The new album is called "Kindred" and it's not up on either of those sites yet. However you can hear one brand new song called "Another Day" on this compilation page:
Discography 10T Records

We're also on Facebook, Myspace, Amazon, Itunes, all the usual spots.

Thanks for asking!
